At a basketball tournament at the end of December, I got knocked down while playing and landed directly on my elbow. I know quite a bit about orthopedics and I observe often in a doctor's office.
After the fall, I didn't think I could bend my elbow at first, and it hurt to bend for a day or two, but now, I can bend it freely. I had a huge bruise and and instead of a pointy elbow, I had a very rounded, swollen one.
When I play now, I tape padding over it, and as lond as I don't touch anyone with it or fall on it (which is nearly impossible in the sport of basketball), I am ok. But, I can feel that there is a sort of divot/crack in the bone that is very sensitive.
My parents want me to go to the doctor, the trainer said I should have it x-rayed to see if there is a crack in the olecranon, but I don't think there is anything that can be done.
Because of the fear that the doctor may tell me that I have to stop playing (the end of my senior season), I don't want to go. Does anyone know what they might tell me?
