Cool Hello

Hello,

This is my first post to this board. I will be 50 this year, and I have had so many health problems my whole life, I am not sure if I could fit it all.

If anyone could give me some feedback on this latest situation that I have, I would really appreciate it. I broke my foot for the third time in August of last year. It wasn't where the other 2 breaks were, but I knew it HURT!!
For 2 weeks, I walked on it and visited the ER twice. They said it wasn't fractured and I had osteoarthritis. I worked every day. I work in a High School that requires alot of walking. I finally went to a Dr. and was diagnosed with a Stress Fx. on top of my foot. After about 10-12 weeks of it not healing, I asked the Dr. if I could have a bone density test. The outcome of that pretty much told me why I was not healing. I had osteopenia in 2 places and my hip has osteoperosis. I wore the cast for 27 weeks!! So now for the latest problem..................

I was put on actonel for the bone problem and all was good with that. I started that about in January. My biggest problem is.......... I wake up in the mornings, and the bottom of my feet are so painful, I can barely walk.
My ankles are a little swollen and my joints in several places are extremely painful. When I wake up in the night, I am in terrible pain.

This seems to have happened overnight and I am not sure if it is the Actonel or I suddenly have some arthritis. There are times, that the pain is very severe...................... Could I have some feedback on what you all think about this?.............. Thank you so much.

Re: Hello

Could be. The biphosphinates all seem to frequently cause joint pains.

Re: Hello

Bisphosphonates (sorry, I'm not a good speller) are a class of drugs that stop and reverse the loss of bone as in osteoporosis. Actonel, Didronel, Fosamax are three that I can think of -- probably others. You can ****** it for more info.. best of luck.
