broken little finger

my son broke his little finger today but hes going in the army in ten days will he be ok to still go ?i checked his list of what they are doing when they first go in and for the first 3days its mostly paperwork and uniform fittings etc.does anyone know if it will be ok to still go as it will be around 13days of him not using it as such do you think thats long enough healing time? please help as i dont know

He just needs to tape it to the next finger, so that he won't accidentally use it until it heals. Most bigger bones take 4-6 weeks for healing. The smaller bones (such as in your fingers and toes) heal in 2-4 weeks. He'll know if it has not healed - it will still hurt.

thankyou so much for your reply,we did that and he was so pleased it was only going to take a couple of weeks rather than longer.he didnt want to miss his joining day for the army,so thankyou joanne
