Hi! I am a 52 year old woman and am going to have a knee fusion on october 27th due to the fact that i have had 16 surgeries on my left knee, 6 of which have been TKR's and all the TKR's went loose after 2 years and have caused me terrible pains. I am on morphine pills daily to keep the pain at bay, including 2 other types of pain killers. I am in a lot of discomfort, and my OS has said i should, if lucky, be rendered pain free after the fusion. But my question is, is there anyone out there that has had a knee fusion and what handicaps do you get and have to live with after the op is done? Will my back that is already bad get worse, and how about my hip? I will loose 7cm of length of leg the OS has told me and have to have special built up shoes to wear.Anyone with any feedback about knee fusion, i would love to hear from.
