| Scaphoid Fracture. Will I be able to fly with a cast?
I fell over a month ago. I thought I had sprained my wrist but it did not go away. X rays a week later showed one small bone broken and a possible scaphoid fracture. 10 days later I was sent for a bone scan and it appears to be broken. I will know the full details tomorrow. Thing is, I am due to fly to Crete in a week. This is a 4 and a half hour flight. Can I fly with a cast on? Then in 7 weeks I am flying to Australia (24 hour flight). Will that be possible? Added to this I had neck surgery last year - the result of some spinal compression which has left me with permanent spinal cord damage i.e. painful lower arms. This is largely controlled by drugs however but the hand issue is an added problem. I have checked travel insurance and as the accident happened after I booked the holidays they will cover me. But I have heard I need a special type of pot for flying - is that so?
