3 yr old broken elbow & fingers are numb... help

Hi, 3 days ago my 3 yr old fell over and broke her elbow, we rushed to a&e and got x-rayed, she had to have her bone pushed back into place and had to have k-wire to keep it in place.. all was a success. we came home and noticed her fingers are numb, we have tried to squeeze them and she feels nothing so we took her back to the hospital, they said she can feel them.. but i know 100% she cannot feel the fingers or her hand, she can't move her index finger or her thumb. my daughter don't say anything about pins & needles or tingles etc she just cannot feel anything... but the doctors and nurses will not relise she cannot feel them and just sends her home saying its because its swelling and will go down.. could this be the cause? i know its only 3 days since it happened but i want to get her feeling her fingers and moving them as soon as before its too late. we have been up there twice now and they will not believe she cannot feel them. they ask my 3yr old "can you feel this" and she looks down at what there doing and says yes but surly they would understand that if she sees what there doing she will say she can feel it... what else could i do? i'm worried because i don't want her to loose the feelings in her hand forever. is there a fix they could do to find out if any nerves got damaged? they did say no nerves were damaged but for some reason i don't believe them.. any help will be great. thanks

Re: 3 yr old broken elbow & fingers are numb... help

The same thing happened to my 4 year old son a month ago. He still does not have feeling in his thumb, index ann middle fingers. The doctor says it is normal and will take about 3 months to return to normal. I was wondering if your daughter's fingers have returned to normal yet?
