| | Oats Procedure OCD Lesion
I've posted a few times on here regarding my injury, I just thought i'd start a fresh thread as all operations(hopefully)now complete and after advice post operation if possible.
I had drilling for a lesion on medical side of Talus 18 months ago, this corrected problem to a certain degree but not sufficently.
I since had a bone graft(taken from tibia with an osteotomy also performed)in June this year, 5 months or so ago. I was in a cast for 6 weeks and no weight bearing for a total of 13 weeks.
I have since had extensive physio, doing exercises alone daily and weekly with actial physios, this is being phased out now.
Had an x-ray done recently, all the bone has taken well and healed sufficently.
The problem is the injury feels as bad today as ever, I have good and bad days, some days where I'm really struggling to walk in work due to the pain. I was just wondering if it is still early days in your opinion and could it take up to a year post-op to show decent progress? Certainly hope so!
i can cope with the new stiffness, its more the pain on the base(ball)of my foot which is excruciating, I've been given some insoles recently and am introducing them gradually into my footwear. seem to help slightly though.
Just hoping with maybe the injurty settling and cartlidge being replaced by scarring it will eventually come good.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
