bony, painless lump on bottom right rib
Hi, not sure if this is the right area, but have been all over Google trying to figure out what this is, and all over this message board, alas I figured it best to just post a thread on it. I don't have insurance right now and have just moved to a new city. I think it was in September that while I was lying on my left side I noticed what felt like a bone protruding out of my bottom rib cage on my right side, towards the back. It feels like it's part of the rib, and that the rib might be swollen, or that there is an actual lump on the rib. It's hard to tell. I can find the same bone on the other side, but it doesn't poke out hardly at all. I feel like it's a lump, like I can feel the shape of it, but it doesn't hurt and neither does my back. When I am standing up or my back is arched, it doesn't stick out but I can still feel it with my fingers. I have read several posts that say it could be a cyst, but I am unsure as how to proceed. Anyone have something similar and know what it might be or think I should just bite the bullet and find a free clinic somewhere? Thanks all.
