I'd like to know if anyone has dealt with this or has any suggestions. I suffered a trimalleolar fracture 12 weeks ago. Had surgery and now am the proud owner of all the internal hardware that typically comes with recovering from that type of fracture. The doc has told me I can start walking on it (sans air cast) but wants me to wear a compression sock to help with the swelling and also to "remind" me to take it easy. The sock irritates the scar that is on the outside ankle bone....actually that's been the most painful part of learning to walk again! The scar is healing just fine but I'd sure like to hear from anyone who has any ideas on how to prevent the scar from getting so irritated.
