lump on top of hand middle knuckle??
For some time I have had this bony bump just under the middle knuckle of my right hand. It is only visible on the top of my hand when I make a fist. When I lay my hand flat it disappears into the joint. It is not painful....swollen...doesn't rub the skin raw...its just there. It is very firm and feels to be part of the bone. It is about the size of a pea. Does not alter my hand function. It is not a ganglion. I played flute for many years as a kid/teen and it gave me bad hand pain. I also went to college during the time before laptops in class and used to get horrible hand cramps from writing (right handed) Is it possible this is a bone spur? I have recently had a full blood work up done and physical (I just didn't think to ask about it then...stupid I know) and I'm healthy as a horse. My grip does tire quickly and it doesn't take much to make my hand ache. I'm only 31. Could this be some early arthritis thing?
Also worth noting....I have bone spurs in both heels that cause me no concern as well as accessory bones in both feet. Maybe I'm prone to extra bones??? Lol
