Hi! I recently went to the doctor for a large, hard lump that has formed on the top of my right wrist. The doctor thought it might be a ganglion cyst. Ex-rays show that it is bone degeneration. He made me an appointment with a sergeon.
I have no pain, but my range of motion is diminished. I am a painter. I need this hand working correctly.
My questions are: What does surgery entail? and does surgery generally improve the condition? How long is recovery time generally? And finally, if I choose to do nothing at this time, will the lump keep getting bigger, and become painful?
This went from being a harmless cyst to a possible life changing situation.
Btw, I am 52 and female.
