In the mean time --- I suggest you start taking a water soluble fiber supplement like Metamucil to make your BMs are gentle w/o straining. Make sure you drink enough water with each dose. |
Even without medical advice, I am pretty sure it is not caused by either hemorrhoids or a fissure, Harry - so now I know I will have to get this looked at. I did have a breakdown in health some years ago, and I have suffered with stomach problems ever since. (It was liver-related...but I have had my liver checked out in both Britain and the USA - and both times nothing serious was detected.) I'm sure all of this is related in some way, though.
Every few months I get the taste of iron - or sometimes even rust - coming from my intestines to my tongue...and my wife says that I have bad breath. (I always tell her that the problem is coming from my stomach.) It has always been this way since my illness - although it has improved much since those days...I used to get many mouth ulcers, but they have improved a lot in recent years - I still get frequent dizziness, though.
I am 49 now...it seems that these stomach conditions occur a lot at that age.
Thank you for the feedback, Harry.
