bad odor and bad breath - Bowel Disorders Message Board

I have chronic bad breath and smell like poop. I never get an urge to go to the bathroom it seems like I just push and it comes out,I brush my teeth 3 times a day and shower atleast once a day.I tried probiotics,metamucil and drinking lots of water with no luck I'm also very gasy.I quit my job and live home, I never go out and gained 25 pound because of this,I want my life back PLEASE HELP!

do u think the odor can be coming from your rectum?

if so join the club, looks like something is definately going around

As for the bad breath, those pocket packs help. Do you have any other symptons like a coated tongue etc?

Yes I do think it comes from the rectum,it feels wet like sweat or something even when I'm just standing there not doing anything .As for my bad breath I think it's coming from my insides but maybe I'm wrong.Do you think it could be from too much sugar?I drink alot of pop.I don't know what else it could be, I don't eat takeout anymore.

Shader: yup same here, I would suggest hitting your doctor and asking for a referral to see a GI specialist and to get them to take a look inside. Even when i eat nothing at all the same **** happens, it seems the only thing that stops it is being really relaxed.

I have to wait till november though stupid waiting times.

I have the same thing except my breath isn't bad. I have a lot of sweating/dampness near my rectum and anytime I begin to exercise my shorts get soaked even when the rest of my body doesn't sweat.

I don't think you should have quit your job though. You should have kept working hard and let them fire you if the smell got that bad, you might have a lawsuit there. I do understand your anxiety though, I'm currently looking for a job and I'm just going to work untill I'm fired, no matter how bad the coworkers say I stink.

It seems like a few people here have a very similar affliction, if we put our heads together we can probably get this thing solved.
