| Re: black no 2s
Does he have a history of of alcohol abuse or has he a heavy drinker of alcohol? This situation does not sound good at all.He definitely needs to see his doc now and then a GI doc asap.My son was vomiting black and having black stools when he was in ongoing liver failure.Does the vomit look kinda like coffee grounds? This is nothing to mess with as he could be bleeding internally from what are called 'varices"that are forming in his throat because the portal vein in his liver is blocked by scar tissue from possible cirhosis(sp?).The blood that can no longer flow through that vein starts to back up and cause high pressure blood flow through the fragile veins in the throat which cannot tolerate the added pressure and will cause them to break and bleed and will also cause a significant enlargement of most of the abdominal organs like the liver and spleen. Is his abdominal area abnormally enlarged? If you press on the liver area(upper R,just under the rib cage) or spleen(kinda upper L below the ribcage)area, does he feel any sort of pain?do the whites of his eyes and or skin color become sort of a yellowish color?when was the last time he saw his doc for a physical or had any blood work done on his liver and kidneys?i am sorry to slam you with a ton of questions here but this just does not sound good to me.He needs tro see his doc as soon as he possibly can and get some testing done.If he does this again before you are able to see his doc,or just does not look or feel "good" please go to the ER.i sincerely hope that his liver is not the issue here but something is causing him some big problems. Please keep us informed on what you find out okay?good luck to you both,Marcia
