Thrombosed hemorrhoids question? - Bowel Disorders Message Board

Is it possible to get a thrombosed hemorrhoids from the pressure of vomiting? I have internal hemorrhoids and recently had a stomach virus and was throwing up and vomiting. The next day, a thrombosed hemorrhoid formed. I read on the internet that even coughing and laughing hard could make pressure. Has anyone heard that these are true?

I think vomiting could cause this to happen.
How are you? Did you go to the Dr.? get it taken care of?

Rolex, Thanks for asking..
I went to the emergency room that night but they wouldn't touch it. So I got into a surgeon the next day and he cut out the clot. He said they can usually go away on their own within a week if you can stand the pain. Which I couldn't since I wasn't able to sit or walk without it hurting. And also the emergeny room was wise not to touch it since they don't have the numbing cream and small needles that he used. I'm due back in a month to check on the inside to see if he can rubberband any, plus I have external ones, and skin tags which I'm not sure what he is going to do with them at this point. I'm willing to go throught the initial pain to get rid of these things for good. You never know when they are going to rear their ugly head and start causing problems.

The samme thing happened to me, however the DR. wasn't able to get rid of it in his office so I went to a surgeon. She said I needed surgery so I had the surgery within two days. Friday will be 7 weeeks and I am finally almost healed. The first four weeks were pretty miseable.

Rolex, did they cut the ones on the inside out? Did they try rubberbanding first? From what they are telling me, rubberbanding only takes a few days to fall off and heal. But cutting takes weeks and weeks.
