Post Bowel Movement Size

I know this sounds like a very wierd and gross question, but I guess everyone here must be used to talking about this stuff. I would like to know if someone can tell me how big a normal bowel movement is - ether in wieght or volume.

It varies from person to person and from day to day. There is no set amount or volume for stools.

It does vary. As a mother of 5, I have been very surprised by how large the stool of, say a 3 year old can be! I have seen it fill the hole in the bottom of the toilet. My kids are all healthy and eat well...some days they don't go at all and they don't even think about it.

I understand that there is some variation from one person to another and from time to time. I was wondering if someone could give me a typical range or size. My problem is that I only have a bowel movement every 2 or even 3 days. When I do go it seems unusually large and I have even had trouble with some bathroom facilities not flushing properly. This doesn't seem like the right sort of thing to talk to a doctor about and I would be embarrassed even making an appointment for something like this. I don't have any constipation of diarhea and any 'medical' type condition. I'm not sure what, if anything, there is to do.
