Hello,
Ive just found these message boards as i was hunting for information. Im male ahe 38,generally healthy,no family history of cancer etc. Im a non smoker,hardly drink,try and keep fit etc,average low risk person.

For the past few weeks i have had dull stomache ache which comes and goes,tends to move around a bit. Somtimes i feel like i need to go to the toilet but nothing happens,sometimes its a struggle and i feel constipated ,rather than one largish stool it tends to bit smaller segments ,no sign of blood/mucus etc. Also sem to have bouts of wind.

Added to this i have had lower back pain,not sharp,more like dull ache in the centre lower part of my back which sometimes radiates outward toward where id guess my kidneys live.

I do have a history of lower back pain/neck pain so it may just be co-incidental with the other symptoms.

As part of a routine medical i recently had urine tests for blood and protein,both ok,also blood tests for cholestorol level and other things (not known) which turned out ok.

My work is rather hectic,sometimes anti social hours/rushed meals etc,,added to this,i have had a very very stressful month and I have almost kind of self diagnosed myself with stress indiuced IBS.

I gather you can also suffer back ache with IBS ?.

Im just a little concerned that im just finding a convenient diagnosis so that i can leave it and hope it goes away!.

The question is,if it is stress induced,how do i fix it? Is the answer just to go off work for a few weeks and try and relax to break the cycle?
