Post Another one for Sarah and Harry

Hello guys, I am still on the metamucil, but lately been under a lot of stress. In any event, here is my question... Lately, when I have a BM, my stools seem to be multiple smaller stools stuck together to form one stool. I say this because when I check the stool for blood after a BM I usually rotate the stools with toilet paper, and when I do this they seperate. IT is kind of hard to explain so I hope you get the general idea. I am curious what would cause this. Also, the other night I was exteremely bloated, and gassy that caused discomfort and pressure in my lower abdomen. The only way it was relieved was when I passed gas.

THanks again

lawman,

How your stool looks and its consistence is determined in a large part to what you eat and the time you take Metamucil.
If you eat bland food -- your gallbladder doesn't put out too much bile and your stool will be lightly colored, greasy food it will be darker, eating veggies & fruit causes it to almost fall apart. There are alot of food that produce gas through fermentation and I think everybody swallows air-- most is belched but some ends up as flatulence. Chewing gum I have found produces gas because you produce saliva that you swallow.

I am no expert but these have been some observations.

Harry

Harry, thank you for the information... I thought Metamucil was supposed to help build and firm up the stool. I am still taking Metamucil, but also eating fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. I guess the fruits and veggies could explain the week integrity of the stool.

Thanks
