Question diverticulitis???

i have had bright red bleeding for on an off for about a year. i had upper GI and lower GI tests done and endocope done. all revealed not much.. just red irritated area. originally the specialist though i had hemmorroids (spelling?) finally i was prescribed dozens of enema medications which worked right away. of course i stopped doing that and the bleeding has re-occured. there is no pain. that is the only ok thing. anyone else have any advice? what should i say to the doctor?? does this ever go away??

I think you need to take a fiber like Metamucil--- it will make your stools softer and easy to pass. It sounds like you're straining when you go causing a tear in your anus.

Hemarrhoids will not go away, but you can learn to deal with them and you need to take something like Metamucil to significantly increase the fiber in your diet to help this. If you deal with the constipation then it should make it easier.

thank you for your replies. i will have a complete check up soon..and i guess i'll just bring it up to my dr. again.. that the bleeding is back..like everyday. but there is no pain?? and i do not have constipation. (at least i dont think so, not for long time anyways.) guess i better start pumping the metamucil (yuk). and live with it for awile. have been going thru lots of "drawers" due to blood stains though!
