Sadly, I tried grinding flaxseed into yogurt at the recommendation of a chiropractor, and it did not help me at all. But it does help some I am told.

Im sorry to hear that. Did u take the required amount? I have also heard that flaxseed 'spoils' quickly.

I have not had a bowel movement in days. i get up each morning feeling really tired and drained. This morning my breath smelled so bad.

Well Im eating lot of flaxseeds organic milled. I sprinkle a lot of them with food. I dunno if it helps but the chlorophyl supplements are helping me a lot and wonder if the flaxseeds are helping as well. Anyways flaxseeds is always good because that its a source of Omega 3's which are beneficial to health.

black_eyes,

Yes, I absolutely was ingesting alot of it. It just didn't seem to help at all....however.....

I think one of the reasons it did not help was because my bowels were in otherwise poor health at the time. What really helped them alot over the past year or so was changing my diet - more raw fruits and vegetables, much less dairy, less meat. But the big help by far was taking a probiotic supplement called Primal Defense (it is a form of acidophilus, but way more powerful). I see you are in the U.K....not sure if they sell it there but you can try (or look at PrimalDefense.net). It is in any Vitamin Shoppe if you have those. It really helped my bowels tremendously and I take it every day.

From your description I suspect you have some sort of yeast overgrowth. Have you ever taken antibiotics, eaten alot of sugar and white flour, and had alot of stress? That is what did my bowels in. If any of these apply to you, definitely try to get the Primal Defense and go on an anti-Candida type of diet for a few weeks. You can look it up on the net, there's tons of info on it.

Also, if you can get a few colonics, they will help you alot too. And possibly a liver detox supplement (check the health food stores).

You can get your bowels into much better shape, it will just take some time and effort. Don't give up, I have felt the way you have felt and it truly is terrible. But I feel pretty good now, and it is all because of the things I have outlined above. Hope this helps.....Al

Mariform and Rageofangels,

thank u for the advice and support. i have had chronic constipation for 5 yrs...since i was 17...did not bother me at first. but about 2 yrs ago the symptoms have gradually gotten worse. My symptoms include, bad gas, bloatness, a feeling of being blocked, not fully empty, fatigueness, acne, irritability and constantly feeling hungery.

i have changed my diet tremedously over the past year...i can have really good weeks followed by bad weeks. i have had it up to here eating fiber, fruit, veg. mY doctor has referred me to the hospital, but i have been placed on a waiting list, and wont be seeing a specialist until june.

Im not giving up though...and ill definitely try the probiotic supplements u have mentioned, and of course flaxseed.

Im only 22...i never imagined i would have bowel problems at this age. ill let u know how i get on

Once again thanx
