Hi, I am anxous lately and need some advice. I have 3 bm's by lunch. Lately it is within 3 hours. Sometmies they are thin. I are all bran yesterday and they were light brown, first one being very good, but then getting thinner and softer.I mentioned this in another post, but have not had a reply. I am boosting up my all bran again. I feel like after a couple of hours of being up, I cannot stand anymore. It feels like my rectum area is heavy. The only relief is at night when i lie down and then go to bed. Then I get up in the morning and go through the same thing everyday. Scared!

Why don't you try changing to a water soluble fiber like psyllium. It may just slow your system down so you have a more complete BM. I use Equate from Wal Mart--orange flavored --sugar free. Bran --I think is mostly derived from wheat and is insoluble and does not absorb fluid so I think it just may moves faster through your system.

Hi, I do take psyllium. In the caplet form and also from Allbran buds with psyllium. I'm always so bloated. by dinner, i look like I am 7 months pregnant. I find the all bran cereal helps to bulk up the stool. Sometimes I hate eating it, but I feel I have to. I am so obsessed with my bowels, it is making me depressed! Sometimes I get to have a good bm after dinner, but not always. My life revolves around my bowels.
Fiber---- are you talking about capsules --I don't know anything about a psyllium caplet.
If you're getting bloated --- I have heard you either swallowing air or what you're eating is producing gas. Chewing gum, sucking on mints or something like that causes you to produce saliva that you swallow along with some air.
If you're producing gas by eat too sugary diet then you could have a yeast infection.
Also since you are obsessed with your bowels you need to talk to the doc about this since this is not normal. Follow all of Harry's suggestions but also see the doc since your obsession seems to be starting to control your life.
Yes, it is controlling my life, but I am scared to talk to the doc. It started last Aug. when developed diaherria and after two weeks, they gave me anti biotics which cured it. But since then, things have not gone well, thin stools after a healthy thick one in the morning, bloating, heavy feeling in the rectum. I just ate my all bran cereal and had two hot mugs of water and am bloated already. I cannot seem to eat anything without being bloated. How do you thicken up your stools, because when I have the thin soft ones, I cannot get all of it out and then I don't want to strain. The capsules I take are from the health food store. I only take one after dinner. It has psyllium in it plus other herbs to clean you out and eliminate bugs etc... My doctor told me to stop taking these pills, because I should only have 2 bm's a day, but my system seems to have 3 by lunch and then that's it for the rest of the day. I tend to feel constipated after that, and only sometimes will I have a bm after dinner. I only feel happy if I have a good bm. i don't want to have any horrible testing done, am too scared!
The psyllium is in capsule form, sorry. It is from the health food store. I take one after dinner. THe doctor told me to stop taking this as he says I should only have 2 bm's a day. I reduced from two to one. I know I should talk to the doc. but am scared. I only feel happy with my life if I have a good bm. I know my life revolves around my bowels, am trying to work on it. I have a history of anxiety and depression, so it is not easy! I just finished my cereal and two mugs of hot water and am bloated already!
