About two weeks ago I had discomfort in my bowels and a feeling that I needed to go to the batheroom constantly. That feeling stopped and now I simply have mild discomfort before/after I pass a stool. I have seen no blood in my stools. I was wondering if this is just a passing virus or what?
Forgot to mention - when I had the feeling that I constantly needed to have a BM only a small amount came out. This no longer happens since the feeling is gone. Any help would be appreciated.
thejoe,
I get that feeling after taking a round of antibiotics. I think it's caused by a gastro yeast infection. So, I go on an anti candida diet -- cut out all sugary foods and simple carbs , take a yeast killer(nystatin) and everything gets back to normal in a week or so.
I have taken Metamucil for years but if you're not taking it ---i think you should!!!
I' wondering if that may be my problem too. I had major antibiotics last summer, for an intestinal infection, and ever since then, before and after I have a bm, I feel discomfort. like I have to go again. A warm bath helps, but not much. It is uncomfortable to stand. Harry, what kind of test would indicate some yeast infection? Can you get something over the counter or do you have to see the doc?
Update: I no longer have that feeling and pass my BMs fine. The only problem is this: When I have a BM I get a feeling that there is still a small bit left right inside of the anus that I can't get out. Also, this morning I thought I saw some blood on my stool. I was wondering if these could be symptoms of hemmorhoids? I am embarassed about this and don't want to go to the doctor.
