Question Occasional thin stools, no blood

This topic kind goes along with my continuing abdominal pain (mostly in "open to all topics"). I have noticed thin stools on occasion. I have heard that stools which are pencil thin can be a sign of colorectal cancer, but I have not found any blood. Neither have doctors, since I have given them multiple samples. But what has occurred to me is that it seems like when I have a BM, sometimes I can't feel muscles contracting all the way. It's like BM's are narrow, but only because I can't make them wide. One of my doctors has been telling me that I may have very weak abdominal muscles, but is it possible to have muscles so weak, that they could be causing my problems?

I have the same problem. Yes, your muscles can be weak. Also you could be Type A ie someone who stresses a lot so that your lower sphincter never learns to relax (try reading on the toilet). The other thing you can do is increase fibre in your diet (with plenty of water). It helped me a lot.
