Unhappy cut?

I have recently been having slight pain on defacation, and only noticed a tiny amount of blood on the tissue a few days ago. I noticed that I have a small cut on the lower portion of the anus. I am not in any continuous pain or anything, just when I use the bathroom. I did have an unusually large stool a while ago. What do I do? This is the first time I have had this. Any help would be great.

SOunds like ya just stretched your rectum a bit. It will heal. If not and it goes on like another week or so, see your physician.

What you describe sounds like an anal fissure, something I know too much about, unfortunately. It is important to try to heal the fissure, so it doesn't worsen, or become chronic. Make sure you are getting plenty of fiber in your diet. Taking a fiber supplement AND drinking lots of water will be helpful too. Keep your stools soft! For the fissure, warm sitz baths a few times a day can aid in healing. Also, a hydrocortisone cream, applied to the fissure area can be soothing. Don't use the cream for more than a week though. When in doubt, see your doctor. One thing that I and many other fissure sufferers have discovered is how little most doctors know about anal fissures. More times than not, they try to tell you that you "just" have hemorrhoids. Good luck.
