mlgable...I disagree with you a little bit. Hemorrhoids of course don't go away without surgical removal because everyone has them. Internal and external hemorrhoid veins are the ones that line the rectal mucosa. They only really become a problem in (as I said above I think) portal hypertension and straining. Once inflamed, they can go back to normal with simple anti-inflammatories and stay down forever. Usually, they are only taken out when they are thrombosed, or they flare up chronically.
