Question about BM's and hemeroids - Bowel Disorders Message Board

About 8 months ago I produced a hemeroid. It never hurt, but when I first got it, it was unbearably itchy. I used some products and they helped, but even now, 8 months later, it is still itchy everyday.

I thought that generally, hemeroids just faded into the background and you would not notice them after a while?

I assure you hemorrhoids just don't fade away --- just read some of these messages about hemorrhoid surgery!!!

Hemorrhoids are permanent and don't just go away or fade into the background just like Harry said. Since you mention itching so bad I am wondering if you don't have a bit of a yeast infection there and would consider trying a little athletes foot, jock itch or vaginal yeast cream (they are all the same thing) for a while to see if that doesn't help with the itch. If that doesn't work then use some over the counter Hydrocortisone cream to control the itch.

Im a boy, so I dont know if I can get a yeast infection, but should I just invest in some preperation H? Would that cure me>? Thanks for answers btw.

Any one can get a yeast infection. Yeast aka candidia is in our bodies all the time but when it takes over the good bacteria and is allowed to grow you wind up with a yeast infection. It could be jock itch, athletes foot, c-diff, a vaginal yeast infection in women or just plain yeast in the ab******l folds or in under the breasts, between the thighs or in the rectal region so get some yeast infection/athletes foot/jock itch cream and give it a try. As already stated you can't cure hemorrhoids unless you have them surgically removed. Hemorrhoids are essentially a varicose vein in the rectum. Preparation H may help shrink the swelling if they are inflammed but they will not just up and go away without surgery. Since you have a hemorrhoid you need to be sure to keep your bowels regulated and not strain on the toilet so that you hopefully don't get any more.
