Re: Do you think a "gluten free" diet would help alleviate constipation??
I have a problem with gluten. It's in practially all our foods! It's used to thicken soups and flavor things. Arghy if you have bad intestines.
I do have tons of constipation. I can eat certain types of wheat and still go. Try for instance a bread made of potato flour or eggs. It didn't bind me up. I think gluten must be linked to fiber and that always has given me problems.
Gluten-free bread is okay, doesn't taste as good as the normal stuff. Also you can't get a good grilled cheese (lactose free cheese) with it. You could also try cutting out lactose from your diet. I have horrible bouts of constipation when I eat milk.
