Question --fissures, leakage, etc. - Bowel Disorders Message Board

Hello everyone,
I currently have an anal fissure and am wondering if anyone has experienced this symptom either with a fissure or without one. After a bm, I clean up to the point where I know have cleaned everything (sometimes I'll even take a bath just to make sure) and then about an hour after a bm, I get some residue on my underwear...granted I wear thongs, but I would think this shouldn't happen no matter what kind of underwear one wears. Does anyone else have this...where they clean up all the way and have to wipe again shortly after?

yeah..i have the EXACT same problem!1 do you sometimes have blood as well?

Yes...I have blood too

If the blood is during or immediately after a bm, it's REALLY dark red. When it's a few hours after a bm, it's more like a light pink. Sometimes I'll feel fine all day and then it will bleed like that out of nowhere. Do you get sharp, stabbing pains also?

yeah..i get exactly the same thing,dark during a bm & a light red during leakage..the doc said to me it was an int.hemmorhoid but im starting to think its a fissure as there is sometimes a razor sharp feeling during a bm..the best thing ive found that prevents leaking is to not walk about for at least an hour after having a bm because it ALWAYS leaks when im out & i have to detour to a restaraunt or something just to wipe! lol! just make sure you pay close attention to what ur body tells u..if u get the urge to wipe! do so! because ive noticed it only gets bloody when i leave it for a while..anyway,hope ive added a little insight for you! take care!

Oh my goodness...I was so embarrassed to ask that question. I became a member because I wanted to know the answer to that same question. However, i never have blood...maybe every blue moon. I don't know what that could be...however, its the most irritating thing. I have a BM and i wipe now to the point where I literally dig up my anus to make sure its all out. An hour or so later when I go to pee, I have the habit of wiping both the front and the rear, and when I do, its like I have this residue like I never wiped. Its always there like my bowels doesn't completely empty itself. I don't what it could be. Now every nite before I go to bed even if I've had a shower, I have to get soap and water and wipe my rear because I don't want to go through the embarrassment of being in an intimate situation with my hubby and its there. Someone please help. What do you suggest? Should I try using an enima once a week or something? I hate this...
