Cancer??????? - Bowel Disorders Message Board

for the last couple of months i have been constipated, i have a bowl movement about twice a day, but whenever i whipe, there is nothing on the toilet paper, so i guess you could say the stools are dry . lately i have gotton the fear of having colon cancer, (I MADE THE MISTAKE OF LOOKING UP MY SYMPTOMS) . its weird, whenever i have a bowl movement, its dry and kinda hard to pass, then i have another bowl movement seconds later and the stool comes out soft and easy to pass, i was wondering if this could be a sign of something bad. also if it helps, i am a 23 year old male. i have had rectal bleeding in the past, but not lately

please reply, i am fearing the worst

Say What, Anytime there is rectal bleeding, it needs to be checked out by a doc. It's probably hemmrhoids (I spell it a different way each time), but you won't know unless you get checked out. Doubt it's cancer but the fear you are living with is no fun and causes stress which in turns creates havoc on your body, including your colon. Please get checked out and let us know. P.S. In the mean time, try adding fiber and plenty of water to your diet.
