I have a few questions I'm confused about and I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone else but you guys - Is leakage from the rectum always associated with an internal hemorrhoid? Or would an internal anal fissure also cause it? And if this is true, what is it about these two things that would cause the leakage in the first place?
Also, are both of these always associated with pain and bleeding, or can you have an internal hemorrhoid or fissure and not have pain or bleeding with bowel movements? (thereby not even being aware that it's there)
And another family member would like to know what constitutes 'leakage'? From what we've read on here, most people who have this problem say they have a noticeable leakage that they either see or feel. But what about someone who simply wipes at some point during the day after showering and notices a small line on the paper...is this considered a 'leakage'? We always thought this was normal but now after reading some of the posts on here, we're not so sure.
Also, more than one said they had a leakage that was yellow....what is that?

Leakage does not have to cause pain. There is an exercise to do with your anus so it closes tighter -- just tighten it throughout the day and it strenthens the muscles around your anus.

I assume you are talking about liquid and not blood. If your colon is working properly all liquid should be absorbed when you have a BM !!! It is not normal to have a yellow liquid leakage.

Some people have a fast transit time and it could produce a liguid because your fecal matter does not stay in your colon long enough for all the fluid to be absorbed--- that what your 5 so foot long colon is suppose to do -- absorb it!!
