Question Incomplete Bowel Emptying

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post here (or anywhere). I'm a 35 yr/o male. A little more than 2 years ago I started to have difficulty having complete bowel movements. Before that when things would work correctly I would pass some stool and then a few moments later I would have another urge or two and pass the rest. I would feel "done" and happy! My problem is that now I have the initial urge and some stool will come out but I no longer have the urge(s) to pass the rest. I can feel it just sitting there. I never feel "done", on the contrary I feel gassy and bloated. It's not like my stool is hard, it's usually very soft and nice.

For the past year I've been seeing a motility specialist and have had a deficograpy, lower gi, cat scan, and biofeedback. The defocography showed anismus but my Dr said it was probably from having to poop in front of people. The cat and GI were normal and the bio feedback showed that my spinctor is opening. Fiber doesn't really work and the only thing that has given me relief is anything that gives me diarrhea. This is an everyday thing, no matter how I feel or what I eat. I guess I would just like to know if anyone else has had this specific problem and if they found a solution. I'm so miserable that I would like to have the whole thing removed. Thanks

Re: Incomplete Bowel Emptying

Zamesh, I just posted asomething that helped me out today. I've tried in the past everything from a perscription my dr gave me to fiber pills, cleaning pills and so on. Usually I had little luck, not much but that a few days later, I felt worse. I hope that you find something that works for you. I did, but it took alot of reading.

Re: Incomplete Bowel Emptying

To have your intestines function properly (if you do not have any mobility problems) you need to intake 25 to 35 grams of fiber daily.
It needs to be divided between soluble and insoluble fiber and also drink enough water daily.

After reading your post, I think you need to drink more water and intake more fiber --- that is what makes the intestines contract and move what you eat through your intestines.

I wish you well---Harry
