I'm sorry to hear about your bowel problems. Presently, I am experiencing the same thing. Today, I will see my primary doc, who will then give me a referral to see my GI specialist, and from there, I'll have a colonoscopy in the first week of August. Whenever there is rectal bleeding it needs to be checked out. It could be hemroids, but to make sure, demand a colonoscopy. In the meantime, change your diet like you mentioned, also drink 2 to 3 liters a water a day, and try taking some metamucil, and warm bathes, which will help you.
