Hi,

Okay, I have a question. For the past 3 weeks I've been having diarrhea after I eat. I also get abdominal pain. But this diarrhea and pain also happens when I just wake up or even if I haven't had anything to eat. I have been not eating dairy because I thought that could be the problem, but my pains and diarrhea still come. However it stopped randomly for 3 days and now is back.

I went to my normal family doctor and she tested my stool to see if there was bacteria I guess, and apprently there is not. She wants me to see a gastrologist. I made an appointment...but it's a MONTH wait. I guess I should mention that prior to this I had a kidney problem and was anemic.

Any advice?

Find out from your doctor if the tests she ordered included one for Clostridium defficile. The symptoms you describe sound just like what I have been going through with C-diff and it's contracted by taking antibiotics. If your PCP didn't have you tested for C-diff, make sure you mention it to the Gastrointologist you see for the problem. Also, you might want to see if there's anyway you can get in sooner than a month. If not, ask to be placed on their "cancellation list" and tell them it's important you get in ASAP.

She did test me for that and said that isn't the case. Also I called today and will be going in tuesday for an appointment. Ugh, I hate waiting.
