Greasy food, foods that are acidic like tomatoes/sauce or spicy food, too much food, swallowing too much air with food, stress, acid reflux...lots of stuff can cause heartburn. If it happens a lot, you might want to take an acid reducer like Zantac. You can take it everyday, twice a day if needed...my doctor once gave me a prescription for Zantac 150 mg.(ranitidine) to take twice a day, but now you can buy it over the counter.
