I would really appreciate some advice as I'm starting to get quite stressed over this.

I'm a 37 year old female who suffers with IBS. I went to the Dr about 2 months ago because of bleeding hemorroids which have been playing me up every months or so since the birth of my daughter 2 years ago. Dr asked me to go back in 2 weeks to check them with a scope. I did this and he said he couldn't see any sign of bleeding even though I had tiny bit of blood on tissue the day before and arranged for me to have a sigmoidoscopy which I have next week. Mentioned to him stinging sensation when I had bleeding and he said more likely to be due to fissures but didn't mention that he had seen any fissures.

Since Dr appt I have noticed stinging and bleeding about every week-10 days. I have become anxious about going to the toilet and am finding that my bowel movements are normal now compared to the loose stools I was experiencing through IBS but the initial part of the stool is a bit hard which I am sure is due to anxiety about using the toilet.

Does stinging sensation and bleeding sound like fissures to anybody? Should they bleed this much? Could the bleeding be due to anything else do you think? I have had my husband check me down there a couple of times and he says he can see small cuts. Can fissures always be seen externally or can they also be just inside where they cannot be seen? I am dreading appt next week and the more anxious I get the worse the cycle becomes.
