Hey, last night after I went to the bathroom (I'll admit it was a bit constipated) I was wiping and saw some blood streaked on the toilet paper. But what was weird was that it wasn't on the stool, it was off to the side. Could it be coming from a tear somewehre? Also, I then was poking around and then was this sharp stingy type pain the the side...I pressed in hard, I don't know why. But this morning and at night when I went to the bathroom I saw a bit of blood again. But...it went away just as fast as I saw it. I don't understand?

Someone?

Sounds like a fissure, but to be sure, you might want to see a colo-rectal specialist. He will be able to examine you and tell you for sure what the pain and blood are coming from.

I agree, sounds like a fissure. If it doesn't get better in a couple of days, go to your doctor to have a look. Hard BM's can cause bleeding, but ongoing bleeding needs to be checked.

Thanks guys. The one problem is...it's day three now that I've been seeing this. It's...really scaring me. Like, the blood is always to the side of the stool on the toilet paper, never touching the stool so I don't think it's mixed in with the stool...it's almost as if it's coming from another hole? Does that make sense?

It sounds like it might be a small tear in the anus. Is is a large amount of bleeding or just a small amount? Take a mirror and try to see what is going on. Also clean the whole area with soap and water and apply some antibiotic ointment each time you use the toilet. Be careful of constipation. If you can see a small tear, and it looks minor, just treat it as above. It should clear up in a few days. If it is larger,or you can't see what is going on, or it doesn't heal within a few days; go see a doctor. You could also have a candida rash between the butt. cheeks. Check the crack for redness and irritation. If it is there, clean well, apply ointment and keep the area dry. If it doesn't clear up, see your doctor.
