Firstly as i'm new to this discussions board let me start by saying hello to you all
My name is Sarah and i'm 32 years old and have been having terrible problems for quite some time now......let me try and explain.......
So, where do i start........well I was diagnosed about 11 years ago following a colonosocopy with IBS that has always caused me considerable pain. My IBS has nearly always followed the same pattern............I eat, i cramp up terribly then i have really bad diahoreah and apart from feeling a bit sore and run down after an attack i can pretty much carry on as usual!! I take anti-spasmatics before i eat most days and sometimes this helps and at other times it doesn't!! Over the last year i have been diagnosed with severe endometriosis and adhesions which i've had 2 ops on already just this year!!
Here's were i need all of your valued and appreciated help...........With this last bout of endo i was getting extremely bad diahoreah and cramping and just a feeling of aching in my left side and fullness!! Sometimes the pain is just so bad I literally can't get out of my bed!! When i feel my tummy it feels kinda hard and i sometimes notice lumps that are sore to touch in my groin area!! To the left of my belly button i've noticed a bulge that certainly wasn't there before!! My gyne kept saying this was bowel related and referred me to a gastro specialist.................After my last Op (in Sept 05) for endo i was hoping that would be an end to my troubles but a week after the op i noticed this pain back again............It might just be easier if i list my symptoms:
Terrible constant bloating of my tummy
Cramping at all times during the day whether i've been to the toilet or not!! In fact the cramping sometimes gets worse after i've had a number 2!!!
A feeling of fullness and pressure in my tummy
Pain that sometimes radiates into my hip and groin
Shooting pains in my tummy and back
Loss of weight (around a stone)
Changed bowel habits
To be honest i could go on and on...............I know that this is not my IBS, i'm not silly and if it is my IBS the way it presents itself is totally different to how its been over 11 years!! I've been off work for a couple of months now as the pain is constant and i never know whats gonna happen from one day til the next!!
I haven't noticed any blood in my stool but sometimes when i wipe there is blood and in the bowl of the loo there has been a couple of red spots.
I'm having a Barium Meal Follow thru x-ray this Friday to check for Crohns and Colitis and to be honest with you all i hope they do find something just so i can hopefully get my life back........................
I'm so sorry this has been so long but here is where you can help.........If you suffer with Crohns or colitis or anything else please please please tell me your stories and your symptoms etc. Plus i'd love your opinions on what you think could be going on with my bowel...........I know something isn't right!!!
Thank you all so much for reading and i look forward to hearing from you and hopefully making friends with people with the same things in common with me!
Take good care
