Question 90% undigested stools

For the last 2 days my stools have been almost entirely undigested. Very loose and looking like the food was only chewed. Liquid is relatively clear.
This hasn't ever happened to me before and I know nothing about it.
I have absolutely no other medical problems and I feel totally normal. My diet hasn't changed recently at all, maybe more fruit in the last couple weeks. Usual diet is ramen, pizza, hot pockets, fast food, mall food court, microwaveable stuff, canned soup (yeah not great, can't cook). Pretty much the same for years.

Should there be cause for concern? I'm kinda worried if my body isn't getting any food. I'm 5'9" 120-130lbs, been the same for years. Mid-20's.

Any suggestions on references or other sites I could check for more info?

Thanks,
Me

Re: 90% undigested stools

Welcome to healthboards.
Sorry about your problem but it can be serious because when undigested food is in your stool -- it means you are not properly absorbing necessary nutrients.
If this continus for any length of time it could affect your health in many ways. I think you need to be checked out by a Doctor.

Having said that ~~~ this is what I would do in the mean time!
At sometime you are going to have to develop a better diet plan. When you are young and healthy, the body is very forgiving but a poor diet will eventually remind you that you are only human and good health responds to what you eat/drink, exercise, and adequate rest. Choices you make are very important --- sooner or later?

You are not digesting your food properly--- it could be for several reasons -- your system is not putting out enough digestive enzymes -- you may need to take a digestive enzyme that is pretty complete type with each meal.
I use an enzyme -- Essential Enzymes by Source Natruals. It contains enzymes for protein, carbs, fats, cellulose and milk sugar-lactose.

Also, the friendly bacteria in your intestines may be out of balance--- your intestines contain over 400 different strains of bacteria. When the friendly bacteria get out of balance -- you don't digest well--
You can eat a good brand of yogurt and drink Kefir that contain lots of friendly bacteria. And, you can also take a probiotic suppement to re-colonize your intestinal tract to re-balance your friendly flora.

The friendly bacteria can get out of balance for alot of reasons--- here are some--- taking a round of antibiotics as well as other medications, intaking too much salt or sugary foods, too fatty foods, spicy food and even alcohol -- and too much stress can really mess up the digestive process.

I wish you well~~~Harry

Re: 90% undigested stools

This might not solve your problem, but try to eat a bit healthier and learn to cook for yourself. It's not too hard, it can be very satisfying and you'll be treating your body a lot better.

The best book I have for a beginning cook is called "Now You're Cooking: Everything a Beginner Needs to Know To Start Cooking Today" by Elaine Corn. My wife and I have had it for over 10 years and still turn to it all the time. It gets down to even the simplest kitchen skills such as making grilled cheese and scrambling an egg. I'm sure there a lot of other good cook books for beginners out there. Eating fast food at a food court all the time is bound to eventually give you digestive problems!

Dan
