irregularity - Bowel Disorders Message Board

I know that i have hemeroids. I also smoke and drink alcohol. I'm in the process of quiting both. I have a fast motabalism (dont know if i spelled that right). Lately ive been constipated and took laxatives to resolve the problem. Now every time i eat something i have to make a bowel movement. Im succesful in doing so but ten minutes or so afterwards i feel like i have to make another bowel movement. In fact i feel like I have to make a bowel movement all day long, everyday. Is this the result of the laxatives or a more serious problem?

do you have any pain in your stomach? because i have crohn's disease and at one point i felt like i had to go to the bathroom all the time but nothing was happening and then maybe the following week i went all the time. my doctor told me this was from my colon having spasms ( the spasms was due to inflammation )causing me to feel like i need to have a bowl movement but then nothing happens. I dont know if this is what you have it may be from the laxatives or another stomach problem like IBS but i thought i would give it a shot
