| Hard Stool = Very Painful Ok... as embarrassing as this is, I have to break down and ask for ideas as how to help my problem. I'm 21 and about 6 years ago I had a colonoscopy done. Everything was basically normal except that they found I had pollups. The doctors only suggested that I dont force a BM in order to not aggravate or worsen the pollups (they weren't bad/severe). About 3 months ago I noticed it was getting VERY difficult to have a BM and everytime I would it would be very hard. It would cause a sharp pain upon exit and even makes me bleed. Needless to say, every BM is extremely painful. Sometimes it almost seems that the stool is too wide to come out, lol (I know this sounds really weird, it does to me anyway). A month ago I started taking a stool softner which has yet to have any effect. Should I now try taking fiber supplements? Or is there something else that will help? Thank you in advance for any imput. |
