Unusual problem - Bowel Disorders Message Board

I have a problem every time I eat away from home. I do not have diarrhea on a regular basis, but when we eat out I have to be sure to be near a bathroom because within one hour after eating I will have explosive diarrhea. Thiis usually repeats one hour later also.

You're probably reacting to MSG or some other food additive that is commonly used in restaurants.

I agree with Brocollie. Something they are using in the cooking process, whether it be the type oil or MSG, it isn't agreeing with you. I can no longer eat at our favorite breakfast restaurant because of the oil they use in preparing the food...I get horrible D as well. If you don't have this problem at home and only when you eat out...it must be something at the restaurant you are visiting. Hope you can find something new to try! Good luck.
