In the past I took natural liquorice that I bought in a health shop. Foodwise - figs, prunes, cabbage, peanuts, baked beans, citrus fruit. Lots of water - over 2 litres is the recommended amount for most people. Exercise - even just walking can help. Hot water bottle on your stomach as well can help.
