Help Please - Bowel Leakage

I have an terrible problem. I am getting anal leakage. It is a clear liquid that is like sweat. My underware gets a little wet but there are no stains. The doctors that I went to just told me to have a high fiber diet and watch what I eat. He gave me a prescription for Cholestyamine which does make my movements very regular but has not helped with the issue.

Re: Help Please - Bowel Leakage

I have a similar problem, anal oozing, It is not clear, but is actually a fecal ooze (gross, huh?) anyway, my gastroenterologist could not find anything wrong with me. I now have to wear an undergarment shield (feminine napkin) and need to change it 2 - 3 times a day, just to keep my skin in good condition. I do notice that when I eat wheat it is worse, (bagels, pasta,etc.). I find that by watching my diet, and using the "diaper" I am much more comfortable and the oozing has become less of a problem. Could this be a dietary allergy?

Re: Help Please - Bowel Leakage

I am sorry to hear about your health problem. Go to another doc until you get an answer. Also, keep searching online.

I finally found out what is wrong with me. I have a Pilonidal Cyst in my lower back. It creates a tunnel to your lower back or in the crack and drains the infected smelly puss or fluid. That explains why I never had any staining and diet did not effect it. It took 4 doctors and none of them found it. The last doc was a ND and he found the port but did not know what it was. I came home and did some googling when I found Pilonidal disease.

I am back to one of the docs who missed it because my insurance will cover it. He should have seen it since he did do an exam. It requires surgery.

Re: Help Please - Bowel Leakage

I have a good buddy that this happen to and his was due to his surgerical procedure which tweaked his anal muscles. i'll tell you this... he solved it eventually as the sphincter regain its motion and lots of therapy sessions. but it sounds like to me yours is not caused by a surgery or trauma. is it?
