Have any of you heard of a new way to do a resection? Someone told me today they saw on TV that instead of just cutting out a section and connecting the two ends, they have developed a way of cutting the colon and "threading" one of the sides into the other end. This had something to do with the problem of getting enough nutrients or something after losing that part of your colon.
I have never heard of it, but that doesn't mean anything. THe doctor never mentioned anything about this, but I gathered it was relatively new.
I can't see how doing this way of surgery would address the pockets and the infections that result.
You would have double thickness...........
