I would say yes, you have hemorroids. I am new here and have a terrible problem of my own and was looking at all the other posts seeing if I could find an answer to my problem (haven't found it yet, but stumbled on yours) Go to the drug store tomorrow and get anusol - they are little darts you stick in your bum and they make the pain go away and the the hemmroids go away after that .... they are awesome and have saved me. Prep H is the other thing you are supposed to get, but the Anusol is like little bullets and you put them inside you and they are solid, and then disolve so they work better - for me anyway .. Ditto...I use Preparation H cream when I have hem flareups. If they don't calm down in a few days, you might want to get a doctor to look at them. Sometimes they need surgery...but doubtful if they are new to you.
If OTC meds don't work, for sure see your doctor. You may need a perscription medication for relief. I know my daughter tried everything, and only a perscription helped here. Also, you may want to soak in a "sitz" bath. It's like a plastic basin that fits on the toilet rim (you lift up the seat first). You probably can buy it at a drugstore or Wal Mart. It's very soothing - you use warm water, and works better than soaking in the bath tub. The warm water may help to shrink the herrmoroids.
