new to diverticulitis - Bowel Disorders Message Board

I was just dx on Monday so almost a week and Ive been taking antibotics but I am soooo bloated I cant even stand to zip my jeans, and they are not tight usually, I have taken gas pills but no gas, just bloated and Im still sore on the left side.. is it common to be bloated? And if so what helps it?

Im not really in pain, just totally uncomfortable! and a lil pain

I have had many flare ups of diverticulitis, and I can't say I ever felt bloated, but felt like I didn't want to button up pants because I didn't want anything pressing on my abd. When having a flare up, I always had pain on my lower left side. Usually after taking antibiotics for a week, I would feel somewhat better, but would have lingering pain on my left side for a while. Sometimes I would think I could feel stool passing the spot of infection.
