BeneFiber? - Bowel Disorders Message Board

Has anyone used BeneFiber? I'm curious to know how fast it works and if anyone has had any side effects. I tried it for three days, but it made my stomach gurgly and made me feel naussea. I've been feeling a little backed-up and lower abdominal bloating the last couple months after my "monthly", so I'm looking for a remedy.

I did not like it. It worked really fast as far as creating a bowel movement, but gave me TERRIBLE gas and cramps. Went back to the old fashion Phsyllium husk fiber stuff (Medamucil or the equiv).

I have to second Josh's comments.....worse case of gas I ever experienced and I was taking somewhat less than recommended daily amount!! Other folks swear by this product; so it must depend on your individual digestive track.

I have been drinking boost with benefiber in it for about 2 weeks now and i have noticed it seems to give me constipation...either that or just my system...but i will try to drink one in the morning instead of coffee, hoping it will help me move and only after drinking 2 will i be able to.... and very small and a huge effort...

not sure about the pills...i do love the boost drinks and they are a bit expensive, but when my stomach can't handle much food...it works...
