I've notice that at least for the last few years when I'm away from home - or at least more for certain - when I'm at the cabin (which I'll mention has no flushing toilet) I don't go, at least not very much. It's really... odd? I've just been there a week and while I pee a lot, thing else was really going on, it's not like I'm trying not to go, I've gone to the cabin my whole life and only in the last few years have I noticed this happen, I just don't feel the urge to go. I'm wondering why on earth I don't! Is it some unconscious thing on my part? Shortly after I get home, I sure do...

I have the SAME problem. When i'm on vacation or away from home for any reason, i have to take senekot (spelling?) I've always been that way????

You need to eat more fiber in ya'lls diet then it you will have BMs.

I'm the same way.. always have been. It's not about fiber. I think your body is off of it's usual schedule and it makes you irregular. I once went over 5 days without one.. don't know why, just had no urge to go. I tried and it didn't work. I got back home and went fine and was back on schedule!

When I use to travel with my work, I took Metamucil twice daily -- sometimes 3X daily and it always worked. This is in addition to your normal diet that is not so normal when traveling. During a 3year period -- I had 350,000 Frequent Flyer miles with Delta and that was not the only airline I used. So. I did alot of travel --once upon a time!!

To have normal BMs a person needs 25 to 35 grams of fiber daily. It needs to be a combination of both insoluble fiber and soluble fiber.. I never found that it makes any difference if you watch what you eat daily when you travel.
