| EKG for a colonscopy???????
Hi ... I am having a colonscopy done which will be my 6 in the last 20 years. My 1st one 20 years ago found a precancerous polyp but since then nothing. My dr. scheduled it at a hospital that REQUIRES an EKG be done on everyone over 50 for sedation. I am 54. I have never had to have an EKG for this and am leary about getting it done at this hospital. Also they will only prescribe Fleets Phosphosoda which makes me vomit before it ever reaches where its suppose to reach. My husband, sister, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law all just had theirs and they didn't have EKGs and all are older than I am. I know the hospital is protecting themselves but I think this is also a money maker for them. I've just never heard of this...What do you all think and has anybody ever been required to do this? Thanks
