 Colonoscopy Prep with Visicol - Results
I posted a question about 10 days ago asking if anyone had any experience with the visicol pills for the colonoscopy prep. The answers were positive so I did go with the visicol pills. They were definitely better than drinking the fleet phospho soda prep. You have to start the evening before about 5:00 p.m. and take 24 pills (4 every 15 minutes) with 8 ozs. of clear liquid and finish up with a can of ginger ale. That went okay but then you have take 8 more pills with the clear liquid five hours before reporting for the test. So I had to take them about 2:00 a.m. – thank goodness it was only eight pills! The last dose finishes its job in about two hours. I did get a few hours of sleep and then the colonoscopy was fine. I love the fact you wake up and don’t remember anything!
I kept dreading the prep all weekend and didn’t eat for two days except for the clear liquid, jello and popsicles. I just kept reminding myself that the disease is far worse than the prep!
